Miami Florida is well known for their extravagantly constructed metropolis. Boasting beautiful architecture, countless restaurants, resorts, and building types, you’ll find a myriad of projects taking place in the city at any given time.
Our team was recently contracted to provide deep foundation stabilization for a project in Brickell, a financial sector within Miami, Florida. We were tasked with providing support to an entry way at an in-construction venue leading into a hotel, rooftop lounge, restaurant, and beach club. This unique agora is slated to open in late 2023.
Due to their exceptional ability to provide foundation stabilization, helical piles were recommended for this project. Utilizing our state-of-the-art equipment, the team at Coastal Foundation Solutions installed seven helical piles to support the entry way to this site. Upon arrival, it was observed that the piles were marked to be installed above underground utility lines. This required our crew to return to the site on another day to complete the installation.
Upon returning, we dug exploratory holes down 3-4 feet to locate the high-voltage electrical lines that were in the installation area that were never located by the GC at the start of the project as requested.
Once we were able to obtain a clear picture of where the underground utilities were located, our team went to work installing RS2875.217 10” x 12” x 14” 84″L galvanized round shaft lead section connected to RS2875.217 84” L galvanized round shaft extensions to a depth of 28 feet to reach the required torque capacity for support. Once the install was complete, the helicals were finished with a galvanized termination cap.
