CASE STUDYFORT MYERS BEACH HELICAL INSTALLATION

In March of 2021, Coastal Foundation Solutions was contracted by Jeff Spiro of Spiro Custom Pools to provide foundation support for a swimming pool construction project on Fort Myers Beach, FL.

ANALYSIS

Fort Myers Beach is one of the more well known gems of Southwest Florida. A small town located on Estero Island, this SWFL coastal area is home to long sandy beaches, several small businesses, and many tourist attractions. Within Fort Myers Beach, many custom homes and resorts reside, making it one of our area’s most desirable places to live and vacation.

With varying soil conditions, most construction projects on the island consult foundation contractors prior to development.

SOLUTION

As one of Southwest Florida’s top foundation contractors, our office was ultimately hired to provide a stable foundation in which to build this homes newly designed custom pool. Once contracted, our team was slated to mobilize and build a support structure capable of dispersing the immense weight of the proposed swimming pool.

RESULT

Using specialized equipment, our team went to work on Fort Myers Beach installing fourteen (14) helical piles to a depth of 14 foot, yielding a compression capacity of 24 tons. Once all helicals were driven into the ground, galvanized termination caps were installed to complete the project. With minimal disruption to the job site, pool contractors such as Spiro can rest assured that neighboring homes will not be affected or inconvenienced by the installation of helical piles.
