The venue includes a hotel, rooftop lounge, restaurant, and upscale beach club, all tied together by a striking entryway requiring deep foundation stabilization.

With the site set to open in late 2023, the client needed a solution that would provide long-term stability while accommodating the urban complexities of construction in downtown Miami.

Challenges and Considerations

This site presented several challenges typical of dense urban construction:

• Unknown underground utilities near the planned pile locations

Most notably, original pile locations were found to be directly above high-voltage electrical lines not previously marked, requiring specialized care and adjusted scheduling.

Solution: Helical Pile Installation

Given their versatility and minimal impact, helical piles were chosen to provide foundation support for the entrance structure. The Coastal Foundation Solutions team mobilized using compact torque equipment to install the piles with precision in a tight urban workspace.

Upon arrival, the utility conflict required the team to pause installation and return later. On the return visit, exploratory digging to depths of 3 to 4 feet was conducted to verify utility locations and ensure safety before proceeding with the helical installation.
