Our team was contracted to provide support to an existing retaining wall and a proposed swimming pool construction project. The project was to take place at a beautiful residence located on Fort Myers Beach, FL.
Given the scope of work needed, we divided the project into two phases with phase 1 consisting of securing the retaining wall, and the installation of helicals for a proposed swimming pool in phase 2.
Phase 1 began with our team providing foundation support to a retaining wall using helical piles. We installed the required helicals to the appropriate capacity and moved on to the next leg of the project. It was imperative that we secured the retaining wall first, as we would not have had access to do so if we proceeded with the installation of helicals for the swimming pool first.
Phase 2 of the project began once the swimming pool was dug. Our team arrived on site and installed helicals to a depth of 21′, 7′ past what was estimated. Additional lead sections were needed in order to reach the appropriate pile capacity of 12 tons due to the site’s soil conditions.
