Coastal Foundation Solutions was recently contracted to formulate a solution to create a primary support structure for a new steel sheet pile wall in Bal Harbour Florida.
In order for the appropriate holding capacities to be met, it was determined that helical tiebacks would serve as an efficient means of creating a support structure for the steel sheet pile wall. Once a plan was put in place, our team went to work installing helical tiebacks for the support structure. As initial torque was not achieved due to site conditions, our team installed additional extensions until the proper torque specifications were met.
Once the installation was completed, our client was left with the appropriate hardware to attach the wall. This is an uncommon situation, as our team typically installs the wall attachment. The end result of the completed project was the installation of the proposed helicals and a total of 73, 7 foot helical pile extensions to reach the necessary torque capacities.
