Our team was recently contracted to assist in the stabilization of a bridge during construction in Pompano Beach, Florida. As the old, damaged bridge needed replaced, proper stabilization was needed in order to meet the structural requirements for the bridge.
Helical tieback anchors were recommended and approved for use to provide immense structural foundation support for the installation of a new bridge on SE 5th Ave. Once contracted, our team mobilized and traveled to Pompano Beach to install helical tiebacks to the appropriate depth and torque capacities.
Coastal Foundation Solutions installed helical tieback anchors to a depth of 70-foot at a 30 degree angle. All of the installed helical anchors achieved the required torque capacities at alternating depths. As soil conditions varied throughout the install, extensions were used to reach anywhere from 21 – 85+ foot depth to achieve the appropriate torque specifications.
